We surely are in the Anthropocene

Recently, a committee of geologists decided that we shouldn’t consider the planet to be in the Anthropocene, the age in which a significant proportion of the dynamics of the atmosphere and the surface of Earth are determined by humans. I recorded a reaction video – how nerdy, a reaction video to an academic meeting – about the decision to say to to the Anthropocene. I also think it’s quite mistaken. My take is coming from a somewhat different direction, but I also think it’s obvious that the Anthropocene is here.
