Welcome to the Pacificklaus mini series providing frank scuba diving career advice. Should you become a dive pro or not? What can you expect? I love being a scuba instructor, but there are things I wish I had realized earlier in my now 10-year career as a dive pro. Living the dream in paradise? Yes, mostly, but you have to plan and think ahead.
Here are my videos where I share my experiences from a decade as a scuba instructor. I am not trying to sell you instructor training or anything else, so I can be frank. I love being a scuba instructor, but I don’t need to sugarcoat the so-so aspects of the career. The videos will be all published by late October ’24, one per week:

- Volunteering
Volunteer in diving to support marine conservation or marine bio research? Make sure the organization you volunteer with can keep its promise. Also: it’s not a party vacation.
