After spending time in Vienna as a guest of the fantastic Department of Neurosciences and Developmental Biology at the University of Vienna, I am back in the Philippines. There are some cool news regarding my creative endeavors:

Very cool to see my essay about a hypothetical cephalopod civilization featured at 3quarksdaily, my favorite website for the intellectual side of the internets.

And …. I have a drone! A DJI Neo. Small, but a really kick ass piece of engineering. Here is some of the first footage I shot with it. Mangroves are surprisingly tricky to film from land. I have high hopes for using the device.

And, after years of filming underwater and coming across quite a few curious and unusual pieces of underwater natural history, I put together a “best of” of my YouTube channel. Enjoy!
