Best of Pacificklaus, Part 1
I have been writing this blog since late 2012, for 6 1/2 years, on a variety of topics ranging from scuba diving, underwater photography, travel through Southeast Asia and random stuff which came to my mind! I recently checked Google Analytics to see which blog posts where the most popular ones. It’s an interesting mix between travel writing, scuba diving physiology, parodies and some completely out-of-the-box stuff.
Number 10: Visayan Poems
The 10th most popular post covers some poems I wrote in Visayan, the language spoken in the central Philippines where I live. I’d say that my level of Visayan is intermediate, definitely not fluent. Is that enough to write some poems? For sure!
Number 9: Cheating at the Cockfight
A parody, about the Filipino national past time, cockfighting. What would happen if someone brought a gigantic forest ground bird to a cockfight? I think the answer is pretty obvious!
Number 8: The Chocolate Bar Nudibranch
Another parody, about a nudibranch (= sea slug) which thrives in very heavily polluted parts of the ocean. A species which I have, unfortunately, encountered myself!
Check back next week for top posts number 7 to 5!
