Euroland Creative Output: Vienna and Venice
As you have possibly realized if you are reading this blog or once in a while looking at my social media, I am presently not in the Philippines, but in Europe. I’m a guest at the University of Vienna, which is great.
It means no diving for a while though.
Still, I put together some (I think!) interesting videos, looking at Venice and Lake Millstadt, where I spent a lot of time as a child, with the eyes of a biologist. There is tons of interesting content about the art & history of Venice, of course, so it would have been pointless for me, as a non-art-historian, to try to say more about that topic. Instead, I looked at this unique city with a biologist. Here is the video:
And, some underwater footage of Lake Millstadt, the lake where I learned to swim. A pretty place, but way below a tropical coral reef in terms of biodiversity and biomass. Why is that the case? The answers are more interesting than they might seem at first (“isn’t that obvious?”):
