Scuba Diving

I like RAID

I have now been a scuba instructor for almost 10 years, and I just recently switched certification agency, to RAID. RAID was initially an agency specialized in rebreather training, but they have now expanded into all areas of recreational diving. They are very safety- and course-quality oriented, and the course outlines give the instructors flexibility to meet the individual student’s needs.

The teaching materials are clear, well designed, and no-frills, with clear instructions what to do to be safe underwater, and no marketing interwoven with the teaching materials.

On top of that, the teaching materials for students, including the certification credits are more affordable compared to some other certification agencies. Also, students can study the theory part of their course excluding the final exam without paying yet: A great way to check out if a course is for you. The videos showing the skills taught in the courses are also online and freely available on YouTube:

So, RAID is a great option for scuba training, from a couple of perspectives. I am certified to teach the basic courses, which are open water, advanced (there are 2 levels of this in RAID), and rescue diver, as well as a number of specialty certifications, such as enriched air. I am also certified to teach diving students in technical diving, the noble art of diving deep in a safe and controlled manner.
