Pacificklaus News March 21
My efforts in popular science writing, underwater photography and film-making are coming along smoothly lately. I’m especially grateful for this during times when a lot of people are struggling with their personal finances ect. I get to go diving almost every week, in one of the top macro diving locations in Asia. I feel blessed, not just because of this, but also because of this.
This video of mine of being attacked by a nasty triggerfish is getting a lot of views on YouTube these days. A lot of folks are having fun with the pun that the “fish is triggered”.
Photographer of the Month
Sea Explorers Philippines, a quality dive shop with several locations throughout the Visayas is featuring me as their photographer of the month in March. You can see my top photographs from the last few years on their Instagram account.

Echinoderm Fun
This video of a massive intestinal fluid expulsion of a sea cucumber is definitely one of the highlights of my recent videography efforts:
Has there ever been a more powerful #echinoderm fart witnessed by mankind? Is this the greatest invertefart of all time? PS: I was behind the camera, but due to supreme scuba skills and impeccable nerves I escaped the intestinal tsunami in one piece. @echinoblog check it out. pic.twitter.com/KpOexOksBo

With the Critter Hunter
I am also featured in this awesome video of my mate Justin, Dauin’s Critter Hunter. The Olympus TG-6 certainly works well in his hands!
More Mars
This month I will be featured in Die Furche again, this time with an essay about the challenges of colonizing Mars. Always a pleasure to contribute to this quality weekly.
